Here’s a look at who we are ...
John and Phyllis Skurla, founders/owners John, after working for NCR since 1957, started Skurla’s Cash Register Co. in 1976, working alongside his wife, Phyllis. Together they shaped a top-notch local company that provides quality services and products for customers throughout Alaska.
Lynn Skurla, general manager Lynn literally grew up in the family cash register business. At age 15, Lynn began working in her parents’ office, answering phones and programming TEC cash registers. She installed her first MICROS system in 1983. Aside from her duties as general manager, Lynn has been hands-on in every aspect of the business – selling, programming, installing, and supporting all types of systems, from cash registers and scales to inventory and bar/restaurant systems.
Jesse Dison, technical support Jesse began working for Skurla’s in October 1994. Two weeks after he started, 10 inches of snow fell – the first of the season. Despite being a recent arrival from Alabama and driving a little Chevy Cavalier, he was the only person to show up at the office on time (everyone else was two hours late). Through the years, he has done just about everything – programming, installing, supporting and servicing our products, not to mention shoveling sidewalks. He has extensive experience in MICROS, TEC, Samsung and CRS products. (We’re pretty sure he could program a MICROS 2700 terminal blindfolded.) He is certified in MICROS 3700 and RES 4.0.
Jason Reopelle, technical support Jason, a Connecticut native, comes to Skurla’s from Florida. He has seven years’ computer experience and four years in point-of-sale. He has helped sell and install retail systems to clients such as the Boston Red Sox, the Philadelphia Phillies and NASCAR, as well as a 1,200-terminal nationwide job site.

Gail Skurla, marketing Gail has five years’ experience in the POS industry and 16 years in editing and writing. She worked full-time for Skurla’s from 1998 to 2004, performing sales, support, installations and training. Currently she works part-time doing marketing. |
