eWIC is coming to Alaska

Women, Infants & Children
Here is a notice from the State of Alaska regarding new food submissions/product changes:

"The Alaska WIC Program is preparing to implement eWIC in our state. We will review all WIC eligible food products that are distributed in Alaska for additions to our eWIC Approved Foods List (APL). We are not reviewing new or changed food products at this time. The 2016 Allowed Foods booklet will remain in effect until we transition to eWIC.

For questions, please contact the WIC Vendor Management Unit at (907) 465-3100, or email wic@alaska.gov."

We will continue to keep you updated about changes and what will need to be done to your Aurora/NCC system in order to use eWIC at your store.

What is eWIC? EBT stands for Electronic Benefits Transfer. WIC EBT is an electronic process where the food benefits are automatically added onto a card, similar to a debit card. This card, which will be known as the eWIC card, replaces the current paper vouchers/checks
