If you live in Galena, located on the north end of the Yukon River, the nearest big supermarket is in Fairbanks, 280 miles away and only accessible by air. The 484 residents there are grateful to have Sweetsir’s Store in town. The grocery and general-merchandise shop has served Galena and its many surrounding villages for decades.
