If you use a scanner at your retail outlet in your restaurant, the State of Alaska has reminded us of the following:

"Attached please find information which briefly explains and outlines the Price Verification Evaluation performed at retail store locations throughout the State of Alaska. Of particular interest to your customers who may be considering employing point-of-sale software along with an optical barcode reader(s) is 17 AAC 90.925. (Registration Required) and 17 AAC 90.920. (Device Registration Fees). As mentioned in the AAC, the device owner should contact the State of Alaska; Division of Measurement Standards to register the scanner system.  However, experience has taught me that many retail store owners and managers are not aware of this particular requirement.  In an effort to assist your current and prospective customers perhaps we can work together by providing information to them that they might not otherwise have."

If you are a restaurant manager and have any questions about this requirement and/or scanning with your Oracle/MICROS System, please call us at 907-243-2683.
