Using MobileBytes is a "Breeze"

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | March 27, 2018

We apologize for the pun, but are excited to let you know that the Breeze Inn in Seward, Alaska is one of the newest members of our MobileBytes family!  The Breeze Inn is in the heart of Seward's busy small boat harbor on Resurrection Bay, a perfect place to grab breakfast or a sack lunch before heading out on your adventure in Seward - and a place to relax after your busy day exploring all the area has to offer.

The staff enjoys the ability to offer tableside ordering via one of their mobile mini iPads, and the ability to manage the system from anywhere.   Plus they know that adding the EMV CHIP readers for accepting payments creates a more secure environment for them and  their customers.

Not to mention, our super hero, Jeff, also helped make the installation a "breeze"!  (Okay, I'll stop now.)

Snow City Cafe Uses MobileBytes for their POS & Kitchen Display System

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | March 25, 2018

Anchorage locals have voted Snow City Cafe, as "Best Breakfast" in the Anchorage Press since 2003! And we may be a little biased, we also think they have chosen the "Best Point of Sale" for their restaurant and kitchen operations -MobileBytes!

With all the breakfast and lunch menu options offered, they opted to use the large iPad Pros as their workstations and also for their Kitchen Display screens.  The look is sleek and clean - and as one employee noted - we can see our customers better now!  And we know how important that is to the folks at Snow City, as they care about good food, their community, the environment, and making people happy.  Check them (and MobileBytes) out next time you are downtown!

Club Paris Chooses MobileBytes for their Point of Sale System

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | March 25, 2018
When you think of Club Paris - thoughts go immediately to their mouth watering 4" filet mignon.  Opened in  the late 1950's, Club Paris is Alaska's oldest steakhouse.  The building they are in was built in the 20's and has been a funeral parlor, a furniture store, and home for the store keeper.  This place is rich with history as well as amazing food and great service.  The Selman family has made Club Paris a true Alaskan dining tradition.

And we are excited to welcome Club Paris as our newest member of our MobileBytes family.  While they still use their trusty NCR register on the bar for a cash drawer, the rest of their point of sale operations are controlled by the MobileBytes Point of Sale system.  They love the simplicity and ease of use of this system - plus they can manage the system from anywhere - even on their phones!

Jesse Dison, our senior installer, helped them implement the system, making the transition an easy one.  He made sure everything went smoothly and even enjoyed their Halibut Filet. (Yes, they also have great fish on the menu).

The next time you are downtown, stop in and enjoy one of their famous steak (or fish!) dishes, and experience the history and tradition of Anchorage.

Take Time for Cake Time - at Zudy's!

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | March 13, 2018

Wow - what a great company slogan-  Zudy's Café - Cake with a View!

Whether you are in the mood for a salad, sandwich or seasonal soup, this Seward waterfront café will amaze you.  And don't forget the cakes and pies that are made in-house to go with some Alaskan brewed coffee.

Judy made a home for her café at the old historic Alaska Railroad terminal building near the Alaska SeaLife Center.  Dining on the patio is like looking at a picture-perfect postcard, with the glorious views of Resurrection Bay.

We asked Judy how she came up with Zudy’s Café,  and the story makes her place even more special. She shares a very close relationship with her sister, who lives in New York.  When they were children, Judy’s sister couldn’t say Judy very well, and it came out Zudy.  Since then, the name stuck with her and she chose to name her café after her nickname.

Zudy’s is now up and running with MobileBytes Point of  Sale!  Jeff Wood was the installer and was treated to some amazing tasting cookies.  He heard from multiple people that their cakes are a must!

With MobileBytes, Judy can view reports and make menu item changes right on her phone or iPad.  Staff training was a "piece of cake" with this easy to use system.

Qinarmuit is Now Using the Aurora Alaska Tough Grocery System

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | October 18, 2017

Tuntutuliak, a Yup’ik Eskimo village is located about 40 miles from the coast of the Bering Sea.  Qinarmuit Corporation in Tuntutuliak recently added the Aurora Alaska Tough Grocery System to their store.  At 440 miles west of Anchorage and 40 miles southwest of Bethel, Tuntutuliak relies heavily on air transportation. Seaplanes can access the village seasonally due to its location on the Kinak River, and barges deliver goods approximately six times a year.  Keeping their store well stocked is important.  And using the sales movement reports can help store managers know what needs to be ordered and when.

Midnight Sun Brewing Company - Top-Notch Toppings | Anchorage Press

By Lynn Skurla Perkins | November 2, 2015

Go to Midnight Sun Brewing Company for the amazing bruschetta. Stay for the beer. Or vice-versa.

The first and most important job of pub grub is simple: provide a solid foundation for the consumption of alcohol. But in Anchorage there are those exceptional drinking establishments that, while remaining first and foremost purveyors of alcoholic beverages, also offer culinary options that far surpass the bar food standard of various unimaginative permutations of grease and starch.
