In the traditional restaurant, an orchestra of cooks, prep cooks, expediters and others work with a system of printers and tickets in creating their ideal meal services. It’s a fast paced world of people and food in motion. Tickets and plates move quickly from the kitchen to the eagerly awaiting customer. Recently, Spenard Roadhouse wanted to take their existing POS to a new level and implement a KDS (Kitchen Display System) to bring increased efficiency and accuracy to their restaurant.

Anchorage's oldest coffee roaster is changing hands. Cafe del Mundo owner Perry Merkel is retiring and selling his Anchorage coffee empire to Kaladi Brothers Coffee. But the Cafe del Mundo business name and coffee styles will remain as is, said Kaladi's president, Tim Gravel.
